Lately I have been hearing a lot of hoopla over these dangerous dog breeds. In case you are wondering what the top 10 most dangerous breeds are. Here they are.
10.Dalmatians
8.Presa Canarios9.Boxers
7. Chow-Chows
6.Doberman Pinschers
5. Alaskan Malamutes
4. Huskies
3. German Shepherds
2. Rottweilers
1. Pit Bulls
Let me tell you now that that list is a bunch of bull. Those dogs ( and all dogs) are only as aggressive as their masters make them. So I am going to run down the most aggressive dog breeds I have encountered while working in a boarding facility for dogs. Maybe I should rename this article. The top 10 dogs who have bitten me and people I know. Before I made this list I posted a poll on every social network I have a profile on, and passed out fliers at school. The poll sent voters to my very own site where the votes were counted. These are the breeds that got the most votes. The voted for the breeds listed above were discounted because they have been listed on almost every listing of dangerous breeds.

10. Labrador Retrievers (28 votes)
- Labs are big dogs with boundless energy. Recent over breeding has made some labs aggressive. Including many that I see while at work, and the 5 that attacked and nearly killed my then 4 year old cousin, my 11 year old sister and my then 9 month old puppy on separate occasions. Although this has happened to me I was shocked to see labs place on the list.
- If you are looking into a lab make sure you get it from a reputable breeder, and socialize it early to prevent aggression.

9.Pugs (31 votes)
-As far as cuteness goes pugs top the list. They are great little toys. Some pugs have the tendency to be nippy at strangers and small children which is the reason they landed on this list
- If you are considering a pug make sure the parents are checked for eye, heart and back problems.

8.The Jack or Parson Russell Terrier( 40 votes)
- The jack Russell is one of the most hyper, fun, adorable breeds of dog. Jack Russells have the ability to jump 5 times their height. These dog tend to get nippy when they do not have an outlet for their energy. They are also not very tolerant of young children unless socialized with youngsters at an early age. Many people do not properly exercise or train their Jack Russell and that's How they landed on this list
- Considering a Jack Russell? These dogs are not for the lazy. They need outlets such as agility or fly ball training. These are some incredibly smart dogs that need constant mental stimulation.

7. The Pomeranian ( 47votes)
- Cute, fluffy and spunky the Pomeranian has become one of the most popular lap dogs. That
seems to be the route of some Pomeranians' aggression. Most owners treat these toy dogs as if they were real toys instead of dogs. These dogs tend to lash out when they are treated more like a baby than a dog.
-Pomeranians need exercise, and proper socialization to remain stable. An un-exercised, un-socialized pom is an aggressive dog waiting to happen
6.Weimeraners (50 votes)- I personally do not know enough about Weimeraners' aggression to tell you why they would have been voted on to this list
" I voted for the Weimeraner. Weimeraners are freaky looking and they always seem to end up on The Dog Whisperer or Its Me or The dog television shows for aggression"
- - Anonymous Comment on the poll

5.Yorkshire Terriers ( 56 votes)
- These small elegant dogs are one of the most popular purse or lap dogs. They, like the Pomeranian have been coddled crazy by owners. Because of that some have not developed the social skills that it takes to be a good dog. Yorkies, as they are affectionately called have a tendency to be nippy, snappy, and just plain mean towards strangers, and on occasion small children.
- Yorkies need to be treated less like a toy and more like toy dog. The keyword in that sentence being "dog." If their owners would train them a little more then they wouldn't have this reputation as yappy, snappy little dogs.

4. Dachshunds ( 58 votes)
- Also known as the wiener dogs. These dogs were the inspiration for the hot dogs that we eat. These spunky little hounds were originally bred to hunt badgers. If you ever seen a badger you know that they are some tough animals. Sadly people keep these dogs as strictly companions without nurturing their need to hunt, sniff and run. People baby these pint sized hounds and they create a very frustrated dog. Frustrated dogs bite. That is what landed dachshunds on the list.

3.American Bullies ( 87 votes)
-Often confused as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bullies are dogs bred for aggression and over sized bodies. They are a mix of American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, English Bulldogs and American Bulldog. Many Bad breeders have been getting away with registering them as American Pit Bull Terriers with the UKC and the ADBA. These dogs do not meet the standard for the American Pit Bull Terrier because they are NOT. This dog got its place on this list as a shoe in. Because it is not a pure bred dog I did not have it as a choice. The comments however showed that people thought this dog did need to be added to the list.
- American Bullies have several health issues that come with the breeds they are mixed with. Mostly breathing and Heart issues.

#2 Chihuahuas (93 votes)
- Weighing under six pounds, the chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world. They take the toy dog persona to a whole new level. Celebrities like Paris Hilton have made it popular to carry Chihuahuas around in purses and other types of bags. Chihuahuas are among the top 10 breeds in shelters. Usually returned because they became too aggressive or they got too fat to fit in the purse. Chihuahuas are the most susceptible to " small dog syndrome" a condition in which smaller dogs lash out at anything larger than them out of fear.
- If you are considering a chihuahua consider this. Chihuahuas are the only dogs that have a fontanel( soft spot) on their head. They shouldn't be allowed to get up on places where they can fall off and hurt themselves. They are very fragile so if you have kids then you must make sure that they are not dropped.
The Number one answer on my poll and the only right answer......
NONE OF THE ABOVE. It is the human behind the dog that makes them aggressive monsters or lovable pets. Don't believe the hype that pit bulls are evil and chihuahuas are snappy. The truth is that true Pit bulls are NOT supposed to be human aggressive. In the end dogs are the products of what we humans make of them. The saying " Punish the deed not the breed" is incredibly accurate. Not all Chihuahuas are snappy little yappers and not all Pit Bulls are aggressive, bloodthirsty monsters.

Pictures of best friends. Pit bulls and chihuahuas getting along like all dogs are supposed to do.
